Elizabeth: the golden age!!

Elizabeth is a 2007 movie directed by Shekhar Kapur.
Cate Blanchett acts The queen Elizabeth l of England, who forgets that she is a woman, but just fights for her kingdom and tries to be a good leader.
She is a protestant and defender of Protestantism, and because of this her country s attacked by a big&crowded armada under the leadership of Spain king, as they want england be a Catholic country under the reign of a Catholic leader who has a son to give the kingdom: Elizabeth's cousin Mary, who helps The spanish king.
while these happens, Elizabeth falls in love with a good captain, Walter Raleigh, but he and Elizabeth's best helper love each other, and they run away, which drives the queen crazy. but she cannot deal with this problem as she was attacked by the Spanish armada. As the enemy is too crowded, she hadn't have so many things to do, so she wears her armor and fights with her army, which is very encouraging for the soldiers. In the end, by the help of the weather and the geopolitical location of the country, the British wins!

What the movie tells is the real history, but just in a "filmy" way, there is a context, love in the movie.
The thing i liked most about the film was the dressess that the woman of that century wear, especially those of the Queen's.

Face Off!!

" In order to trap him, he must become him!"
This is the Tagline of the movie, Face off, produced in 1997 and directed by John Woo.
Sean Archer (John Travolta) is a successful government agent. While he was with his son in the park, he is shot by the big criminal Castor Troy (Nicholas Cage), but this ends up with his 6-year-old son's death. For years, Archer seeks for revenge and one day he catches Castor, injures him so bad that Castor goes into the coma, just like a plant. This is a secret operation and just a few people know about it. anyways, the operations are done, Archer becomes Castor and he is sent into the jail to learn sth form Pollux. while he was inside, because of the operations he had, Castor returns to life, understands what has happened, calls his men, cathes the doctors and he becomes Archer!!! and after the operation, he burns the clinic with everybody knows about the change inside. so Archer cannot claim anything, he is permanently Castor now! He tries to tell somebody but of course nobody believes him. Outside, Castor acts as if he is archer, he catches bad criminals as he knows where they are, and makes everybody to trust him. In the end, Kiara and Kovu persuade both parties and set the peace.
This was a good animation movie. There characters start to sing songs throughout the movie, as this is an animation and the major population it addresses is the children. The language is clear, you don't need any subtitles guys!

Here is some quotes:

Simba: "But they... "
Kiara: "Them? Us. Look at them, they are us. What differences do you see?"
Zira: What is your destiny?
Kovu: I will avenge Scar. Take his place in the Pride Lands.
Zira: Yes! What have I taught you?
Kovu: Simba is the enemy.

Lion King!!

The Lion King!! When I saw it, it was the first time I have been to the cinema! It is a 1994 movie, and was released in Turkey in 1995, I was just 9 years old.
Everything began when I was given the book "Lion King" as a present on my 7th birthday. I finished reading the book the next day, and was impressed. Two years later, I saw the posters around, I went to see the movie with my parents.
This time I'm 21, and watched it alone in my room. It's still fascinating!
Let me tell the movie. We have a pride of lions, and the Lion King: Mufasa.. He and his queen Sarabi has a boy, Simba. Simba is presented to the public of the forest as the next king. This makes the evil uncle Scar very angry because he wants to become the king. So he makes a plan together with the evil Hyenas, and ambushes Simba. While trying to save his son, Mufasa gets into trouble, wants Scar's help, but he pushes his own brother and kills him. then he talks to simba, makes him feel gulty and leave those lands. So, Scar becomes the king, and Simba starts a new life outside with his new friends while everybody thinks he is dead.
As a king, Scar is very cruel and unsuccessful, everything goes bad in the Pride rocks. And Nala, a lioness and Simba's best friend while they were babies, goes out of their land to find help, and finds Simba. Together with other forces, she persuades Simba to return home. Simba returns, learns that he wasn't guilty in his father's death, by overcoming Scar he becomes the King, and Nala becomes the Queen.

P.S. Hakuna Matata!! this is the motto of Simba's friends, and it means a life free of any problems and stress.. so, maybe we should make this our motto too...
Hakuna Matata guys!

Requiem for a Dream!!

A 2000 movie by Darren Aronofsky.
This is the second time I watch this movie. When I first watched it, I was in high school, and I found it disgusting. Everybody was using drugs, the environment of the youth was very bad. I was just a pure girl:), and I thought that alcohol, drugs etc. were things that are very far away from my life.
I decided to watch the movie again, because I was reading very good comments about it for some time, and I thought maybe I could watch it from another perspective, by the eyes of a girl who is in the university and has seen many things since high school. Now I see it was a good decision, because the movie can teach something when you know that drugs can become a part of your life now very easily if you allow to.
Yes, Requiem for a dream is about drug addicts.
Harry (Jared Leto), his girlfriend Marion (Jennifer connely) and thier friend Tyrone are drug addicts, who are trying to become drug dealers in order to get more money. Harry doesn't live with his mother Sara (Ellen Burstyn), but visits her sometimes. He wants to save money and go far away with Marion. But things get complicated and they get into trouble.
Sara learns that she will be on the tv for a contest, ans she tries to lose weight to seem fit in her red dress. She begins to take pills, but she becomes addicted to them like her son, and she goes mad.
The film focuses on 4 people, and at the very end of the film, we see them all in fetus position, which means in psycohology that they want to turn bask to their mother's womb, they are regretful, they want to take the time back.
It is a good exmaple for the youth to understand how bad the drugs are. There is nothing like "I will try just once". Once you're hooked, you're hooked. Then you have to bear the consequences. I advise you to see the movie.
Here is the trailer.. and by clicking here you can listen to the soundtrack, which is really very famous and used as the background music for every dramatic scene in the news. It is really good and impressive.
Here are some quotes:
Sara: "[on her pills] Purple in the morning, blue in the afternoon, and orange in the evening. Just like that, one, two, three, four. "
Marian:"I love you, Harry. You make me feel like a person. Like I'm me... and I'm beautiful."
Harry:"You are beautiful. You're the most beautiful girl in the world. You are my dream."
Sara:(after dying her hair to red)"Well then... what's orange? If this is red, I wanna know, What's orange?"

Trainspotting!!

Trainspotting is a 1996 movie by Danny Boyle. It is a film about gangs, drugs, crime, and a boy fed up with all these things.
Renton is a drug addicts, so his friends Spud and Begbie, but one of the group members doesn't use drugs and they call him "sick boy".
After Renton meets a girl and he learns she is just 14, and when one of their friend's baby dies while they were taking drugs, Renton decides to give it up and start a new life. He is cured, and goes another city, finds a job, hires a room and starts it all over. but his past doesn't let him go. one da, as he comes from work, he finds Spud, Begbie and Sick boy in his room. Begbie is a dangereous person, he is a psycho, and he wants to buy drugs to sell, but he needs someone to try the drug first: Renton. Renton tries it for once. Does everything start all over? just watch and see.. See also what happens to poor Sick boy, and why?

The movie maybe a heavy one for you, by 'heavy' I mean that there are obscene scenes, and violence sometimes. So you should first watch the trailer and then decide whether you'll watch it or not.

Some quotes:

Renton: We would have injected vitamin C if only they had made it illegal!

Renton: Choose Life. Choose a job. Choose a career. Choose a family. Choose a f***ing big television, choose washing machines, cars, compact disc players and electrical tin openers. Choose good health, low cholesterol, and dental insurance. Choose fixed interest mortgage repayments. Choose a starter home. Choose your friends. Choose leisurewear and matching luggage. Choose a three-piece suite on hire purchase in a range of f***ing fabrics. Choose DIY and wondering who you are on Sunday morning. Choose sitting on that couch watching mind-numbing, spirit-crushing game shows, stuffing junk food into your mouth. Choose rotting away at the end of it all, pissing your last in a miserable home, nothing more than an embarrassment to the selfish, f***ed up brats you spawned to replace yourselves. Choose your future. Choose life... But why would I want to do a thing like that? I chose not to choose life. I chose somethin' else. And the reasons? There are no reasons. Who needs reasons when you've got heroin?

A Clockwork Orange!

One of the weirdest movies I have ever seen.. Maybe the weirdest, yes..

It is a stanley Kubrick movie, from 1971. I wonder how he could dare to produce such a weird movie in those years, he must be a bold director.
The characters use a poetic language, but it's not so hard to understand.
In the movie, wee see a gang of teenagers who are vandals. They just try to give harm everybody, even themselves without any purpose. One day, the leader of the gang, Alex (Malcolm McDowell) is caught and put into the jail. There, in order to get out of the jail as soon as possible, he agrees to try "aversion therapy". by this therapy, when he sees something bloody, he vomits, or he cannot touch any woman. After the therapy, he is released as he hates violence now, but the other members of the gang are still after him.

I cannot find anything else to write about it, as I said it is a bold movie. Full of violence.. I believe that most people won't like it when they watch, but it became one of my favorites.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind!!

Have you so bad times that you don't want to remember? Have you ever wished you keep no memory at all about a person, your ex boy/girlfriend for example?

Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is a 2004 film by Michael Gondry.
The movie starts from the end, so in the first 15 minutes you don't understarnd waht's going on:)
Let me give you the summary of the film.
Joel and Clementine were in a relationship (we understand this after a while), and they broke up. Joel finds out that Clementine made her memory erased in order not to remember anything about Joel, because she was suffering. this makes joel very angry and he goes to the same clinic to make his memory erased too.
During the operation, as he remembers the memories, he decides to cut it off, he wants to keep his memories, but as the doctors (or whatever they are) are having party, they cannot communicate with him. He tries so hard not to give hise memories but he fails, so, his all memory is erased...

The people with their fresh memories find themselves again, and, surprisefully(!) falls in love again:) this is the power of true love, I think..

Some quotes:

Joel: Is there any risk of brain damage?
Doctor: Well, technically speaking, the operation is brain damage, but it's on a par with a night of heavy drinking. Nothing you'll miss.

Joel: I could die right now, Clem. I'm just... happy. I've never felt that before. I'm just exactly where I want to be.

Clementine: Joely?
Joel: Yeah Tangerine?
Clementine: Am I ugly?
Joel: Uh-uh.
Clementine: When I was a kid, I thought I was. I can't believe I'm crying already. Sometimes I think people don't understand how lonely it is to be a kid, like you don't matter. So, I'm eight, and I have these toys, these dolls. My favorite is this ugly girl doll who I call Clementine, and I keep yelling at her, "You can't be ugly! Be pretty!" It's weird, like if I can transform her, I would magically change, too.
Joel: [kisses Clementine] You're pretty.
Clementine: Joely, don't ever leave me.
Joel: You're pretty... you're pretty... pretty...

The Illusionist !!

The Illusionist is an 2006 movie directed by Neil Burger.

Eisenheim(Edward Norton) is a very good illusionist and he organizes a show in his homwtown where he left years before. People believe he can communicate with the poeple from the other world and he is not just an ordinary illusionist. He becomes so popular that the Prince(Rufus Sewell) comes to see his show. During the show, Eisenheim wants a volunteer, and prince presents his fiancee Sophie (Jessica Biel), whi is also Eisenheim's childhood lover. They recognize each other and start to meet secretly. Prince learns this, wants Eisenheim to be arrested and charges Inspector Uhl for this job.
One day, Sophie says the prince that she wants to leave him, and drunk prince gets so angry that he teases Sophie, then we see sophie lying on her horse with blood. The next day Sophie is found dead in the river.

Uhl finds some evidents justifying that the prince is the murderer, and goes to arrest him. Prince commits suicide.
At the end of the film, by the eye of Inspector Uhl, we see what happened actually, which is very different from what we have seen and thought.
I advise you to watch the film.

Some quotes:
Danny: [writing the beginning of the essay] People look at me and see my brother.
Derek : Alright listen up, we need to open our eyes. There's over two million illegal immigrants bending down in this state tonight. This state spend three billion dollars last year on services, on people who had no right to be here in the first place. Three billion dollars. 400 million just to lock up a bunch of illegal immigrant criminals who only got in this country because the fucking INS decided it's not worth the effort to screen for convicted felons.

V for Vendetta!!

" Remember, remember.. The 5th of November..."

V for Vendetta is a 2005 film directed by James McTeigue.

V is our shadowy character hiding himself a symbolic smiling-faced Guy Fawkes mask and he is fighting against the government because he wants freedom for the society. He is trying to finish what Guy Fawkes left incompleted:he will burn the house of Parliement.
And Evey is just an ordinary girl, till she is rescued from the secret police by V and somehow she becomes V's ally. while helping him to realize his plans, she falls in love with him. V is very kind, polite while using terroristic attacks towards the government.

On the 5th of November, by the help of Evey... Can he realize his plan? watch and see:)

Here is the famous speech V makes on tv:
"Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, thereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot. "

Leon, the professional!!

Leon is produced in 1994 by Luv Besson with starring Jean Reno and Natalie Portman.

It is one of the movies in whose end I found myself crying:( It will be one of my bests throughout my life. i'm sure.

Leon is a professional hitman, and Mathilda is his 12-year-old neighbor. Mathilda's father is involved in drug dealing and one day his enemies come their home, assassinate her parents and her baby brother while Mathilda was in the grocery store. she comes home and finds out everybody is dead; Leon pities her and decides to take care of her.

Mathilda brings love, fun and emotions to his life, and he always wants to keep her out of trouble, but can he be successful? Watch and see..

In the movie, yes we feel love between two, but what kind of a love? Is it possible that a 12-year-old girl and a man about 30s fall in love with each other? Is it ethical? But even if they are in love, this doesn't disturb you as there are no touches.

Pulp Fiction!!

One of the best movies I have ever seen!
Pulp fiction is a movie produced by Quentin Tarantino in 1994.
We have Vincent Vega (John Travolta), a hitman, and his friend Jules. They are behind a stolen suitcase of their boss, Marsellus Wallace. Also, when he is out if the cuty, Wallace asks Vincent to show his wife Mia (Uma Thurman) a good time. Vincent tries to be loyal to his boss, everything goes well till one of them mekas a big mistake and things get complicated.
This movie is called one of the cult movies. It is weird, but impressive at the same time. At the end, you just look and say "so..?", but when you think about it sometime, you can make connections and understand it.
If you are a kind of person who just want definite ends in the movies, this one is not a good choice for you. But if you like cult movies, and if you wanna hear good music throughout the film, watch Pulp fiction.
Here are link for some music from the OST of the movie, just click on them.
You can also watch the trailer if you click here.
and lastly, here are some quotes from the movie that I like:
Mia: "I do believe Marsellus Wallace, my husband, your boss, told you to take ME out and do WHATEVER I WANTED. Now I wanna dance, I wanna win. I want that trophy, so dance good. "
Mia: " Don't you hate that?"
Vincent:"what'?
Mia:"Uncomfortable silences. Why do we feel it's necessary to talk about bullsh*t in order to be comfortable? "
Vincent:"I don't know. That's a good question. "
Mia:"That's when you know you've found somebody special. When you can just shut the f**k up for a minute and comfortably enjoy the silence."

3:10 to yuma!

"Time waits for one man.." Ben Wade! He will be put on 3:10 train to Yuma, where the big prison for very cruel murderers is.
3:10 to Yuma has two versions, one in 1957, and the other is in 2007. I haven't watched the former one, but I'll talk baout the one in 2007.
Ben Wade (Russell Crowe) is a criminal: a murderer, a thief. Now he is arrested, and has to be taken to take the train. It is not an easy job, because the gang of Ben Wade, who are also cruel and successfull(!) murderers, are somewhere outside trying to rescue their boss.
Dan Evans (Christian Bale), a poor farmer, is an handicapped man; he is hobbling while walking because of the injury he got while he was a soldier. As he need money, he finds himself in one of the escorts taking Wade to Yuma.
During the fights, non-stop action, we observe different realtionships and a closeness between Wade and Evans. Finally, we find out that Evans' aim while taking this duty was not only money, but somethong else: being a hero for his son, because he wasn't a veteran in fact.. Can he succeed this? Watch and see:)
This movie, especially the end of it, was very impressive. I found a teardrop on my cheek when it came to the end. I strongly advise you to watch it. you can start by watching the trailer, by clicking here.
Here are some quotes from the movie:
Wade: "Well, would you look at all this? You all spared no expense this time, Byron. I gotta say, though, it's probably cheaper just to let me rob the damn thing."
Butterfield(stage line owner): "Twenty-two robberies, over four hundred thousand dollars in losses."
Wade: "Ya'll notice he didn't mention any of the lives I've taken?"
Evans (to his son) : "Just remember, it's your old man that hauled Ben Wade to that station... when nobody else would. "

The legend of 1900!!

"An epic story of a man who could do anything..except be ordinary."

What did you think when you see the name of the film?
something happened in 1900, something legendary, and the movie tells about it, right?
I thought so too, but we're wrong! 1900 is the name of our main character. He is left on a ship, one of the crew finds him, and as it's the beginning of the new year, he calls him "1900". but his full name is Danny Boodman T.D. Lemon 1900. Danny Boodman is the name of the employee finding him, T.D. Lemon, because the baby was lying in a case and T.D. Lemon was written on it, and you know the rest.
1900 was born in that ship, and has never left it. Without being taught, he becomes a very good pianist, in fact the best pianist in the world. He is so famous that, Jelly Roll Morton, called as "father of jazz" comes to the ship to duel. and who wins? 1900, of course.
He has never thought getting out of the ship, till he sees a girl and falls in love. Max, another member of the orchestra, and 1900's best friend, persuades him to go and find that girl. He attempts to get out of the ship, but he cannot. Outside world frightens him.
Max is also the teller of the story. He leaves the ship and never sees 1900 again. One day, he finds out that the ship is going to be burned, as it's too old. Max is sure that 1900 is still somewhere inside, and tries so hard to go inside the ship and find 1900. After a while, he succeeds, and wants 1900 leave the ship. I won't tell the rest, just watch and see...

Here are some quotes that I noted:
1900: "you can get off the ship, all right, but of the ocean?"
"Land? Land is a ship too big for me, it's a woman too beautiful, it's a voyage too long, perfume too strong... "

1900: "What's a mama, Danny?"
Danny: "Well, mama is a horse."
1900: "A horse?"
Danny: "Race horse!"

Scarface!

Tony Montana! A cruel, self-confident man.. A lover.. A murderer.. Strong, but weak at the same time...Not handsome, but definetely cool. :)

Scarface (1983) is a film directed by Brian de Palma.
Tony Montana is a Cuban immigrant in the USa with his friend Manny. At the beginning of the film, Fidel Castro opens the Mariel Horbor to make thousands of people run away to America, so that only those who believe to the power of the new order would stay in Cuba.

Tony Montana and Manny are from those who migrate to the USA. They work in hard conditions with little money at first, but when Tony takes the control and starts to make some "dark" business, they begin to become powerful and rich. Tony is so clever that he establishes an empire in very little time.
I don't want this piece of writing to become a spoiler, so a won't tell the end of the film. I strongly advise you to watch it as soon as possible!

So, how did I chose Scarface out of those hundreds of movies? Well, I used to see its poster everywhere, and I think it is very attractive. Moreover, whenever we talk about movies, or I read sth about them, people (especially boys) put this one to the tops. You understand the reason when you watch it. It is a really good movie. When you see that black screen and "cast" part, you feel a little hurt.

Memorable quotes:
Tony:
"I always tell the truth. Even when I lie."
"You wanna waste my time? Okay. I call my lawyer. He's the best lawyer in Miami. He's such a good lawyer, that by tomorrow morning, you gonna be working in Alaska. So dress warm."

Arizona Dream

"this is a film about a man and a fish
this is a film about dramatic relationship between a man and a fish
the man stands between life and death
the man thinks
the horse thinks
the sheep thinks
the cow thinks
the dog thinks
the fish doesn't think
the fish is mute, expressionless
the fish doesn't think, because the fish knows everything.
the fish knows everything..."

a movie from Emir Kusturica, from 1993.

first thing to say=the soundtrack is very good!
in fact, it's a weird movie, in which reality and dreams mix. I had a list "movies to see", and this was one of those at the top of the list.
in the movie, there is a guy, Axel (johnny depp) who lives & works in New York. one day, his cousin Paul comes, he wants Axel go with him to Arizona for their uncle's wedding. Axel refuses, but Paul makes him drunk, and drives to Arizona.
In Arizona, Axel is forced to run the family business, and there he meets with two ladies:a rich naughty girl Grace, and her mother-in-law Elanie. after some time, Axel and Elanie start making love, and Axel helps Elaine for her dream come true:flying! he designs small planes, and at last they succeed! through the end of the film, Axel falls in love with Grace, she likes him too. but in the end, I won't tell what happens in the end:)
the main element in the movie is the fish! I am sure it symbolizes something, but unfortunately I cannot find what?

here are some famous quotes from the movie, the ones that I like:
Axel: "Whenever I try to remember my dreams, I always turn 'em into stories. But dreams are like life. You can't catch it with your hands because you can't catch something you don't really see. If you believe in your dreams, you could be sure that any force, a tornado, a volcano or a typhoon, wouldn't be able to knock you out of love; because love exists on its own. "

Axel:" My dad always said that work was like a hat you put on your head. And even if you didn't have pants , you didn't have to walk down the street ashamed of your ass as long as you had a hat... "

Axel:" These philosophies, with pies and bananas and Q-tips and..."
Paul:" I'm an artist. "
Axel:"You're a bullshit artist."
Paul:" Bullshit artist, artist, whatever. Art is art."

The Big Lebowski

The Big Lebowski is a 1998 movie by Joel Coen.

The guy of the movie is Jeffrey Lebowski, an ultimate idle man, who calls himself "the dude". The fact that he is mistaken for another Lebowski, a millionaire, is the beginning of the changes in the Dude's life. Two gang members come to his house, want money and one of them pees on his rug. Then the dude finds the millionaire Lebowski to pay for his rug that was ruined because he was mistaken for him. then millionaire wants the dude work for him, the dude gets into lots of trouble.

When you look from a girl's perspective, the dude is very unattractive at first. I mean, he lives in a messy house, his clothes are arty crafty, he neverminds anybody, he does not want to marry or love any woman.. just a total slacker.

but when the time passes, when you see what happen to him and you know that none of them are his fault but his friend Walter, you begin to pity Dude, and he begins to seem attractive to you:)

The language of the film is just the daily laanguage. As one can expect from such guys, the characters always swear and use dirty words.
Personally, I liked the way the Dude lives. He does not care for anything, he never takes anything seriously, he just wears what he wants or speaks how he likes. He does not have any responsibilities in the world. No family, just a few friends similar to him... Sometimes this kind of a lifestyle is very attractive for me, but mine is a totally different one...
anyways.. to sum up, I cannot say that the movie was "awesome!!!", but still it worths watching it..

Edward Scissorhands!!!

Edward Scissorhands was produced in 1990 by Tim Burton. It is about a man-created character Edward (Johnny Depp). He was created by a scientist, who put him a heart, a brain, and provided him with an education by reading poem and making conversations. But Edward is not a completed creature; the scientist dies before he attaches hands to Edward who has scissors onstead of hands. Edward is left incomplete and all alone.
one day, a woman called Peg (Dianne Wiest) goes to the castle where Edward lives, pities him and takes him to the town with her. Edward starts to live with Peg's family and becomes the favorite of all the family and neighbors by the creative works he does such as hairdressing and designing the plants in the garden. As Edward has a heart, he falls in love with the daughter of the family, Kim (Winona Ryder). while everything is okay, some unlucky events occur and nobody wants Edward in the town. At the end of the movie, Kim says Edward is dead in the castle and the life turns to normal. Edward stays in the castle as he did before and Kim never goes to see him.
personally, i can say with no doubt that Edward Scissorhands is one of the best movies i've ever seen. The reasons for that are both the movie itself and my admiration to Johnny Depp. Not only Depp but also all the other actors&actresses fits the characters they play very well.
In the movie, nobody judges Edward for not being a normal person, so Edward's being a man-designed creature was not weird for me, like everybody could have scissors instead of hands and fingers. I felt pity for him because although he was so well intentioned, he got into trouble many times while trying to help people. when he got back to his castle forever, i thought it was the best place for him to exist. He was lonely, but he was okay like that, nobody could give harm to him there. at the end of the film, at first i expected Kim to go to the castle and see Edward once more. But later, I decided that what Kim was doing was right; going there would start the things all over again. Everybody was okay as they were, there was still love and longing left behind, which was very respectable.
The language of the movie is quite easy, you really do not need any subtitles or something else to understand what's going on. If you want to see the movie, which I strongly advise you to do, you can ask me for the DivX cipy of it.

one flew over the cuckoo's nest!!

The first movie i wanted to watch was "One flew over the cuckoo's nest", directed by Milos Forman and produced in 1975. The star of the film was Jack Nickolson.
In the movie, McMurphy (Nickolson)who is a prisoner is sent to a mental hospital because of his crazy behaviors. There, he arranges basketball games, establishes a small casino, rebels, causes very big problems. He learns that some of the patients are staying voluntarily in the hospital and he tries to convince them that the world is beautiful and it worths to be outside. In this "waking up" process, he hijacks the bus of the hospital and arranges a trip for the patients; bribes the night watchman, invithis girlfriend to the hospital and they alltogether have a big party and all these causes him to be electroshocked. I will not tell the end of the movie not to be a spoiler, because I believe you should watch it.
One flew over the cuckoo's nest is a very old movie; my father was a teenager when it was produced. Still, it is very successful and became one of my favorites. the setting is very simple and the story is not a sophisticated one but what McMurphy is trying to do deserves admiration: he is trying to wake up the people who has no hope and zero expectation from the life.
Was McMurphy dangerous? For good people, not at all! He was a good person.
Was he crazy? yes, he was!!
the language of the movie is not very easy, but still you can follow enough to understand the movie.
i strongly advise you to watch it, and if you need, i have the original DVD of the movie.
